Through the looking glass nothing is as it seems.

Reading fiction gives us a magical opportunity to visit worlds that don't exist outside the pages of our imagination. Writing fiction however, gives the author a chance to experience them first hand.

It is an amazing accomplishment to meet a character that, until this moment, has existed only in the depths of your own whispered thoughts. But while the author might give them life, they only truly live it when someone else reads them into being. As an author we share our illusionary family, out of a need to truly give them substance.

Through fiction, we can give them a world in which to live, where nothing is truly as it seems. They need not be bound by the laws of science or even those of nature. Their only limit is that of their creator's imagination. It is an overwhelming power and honour to hold.

I am currently working on a number of pieces of children's fiction and my very first YA novel.

This blog will be a place to share updates about my work, my views on the (many) books I enjoy reading and a place to release some of the stranger characters from the vault of my imagination that are yet to find a forever home elsewhere.

I hope you enjoy it.
